• LPT (Language Proficiency Test)

    With Reg (EU) 1178/2011 Annex I (Part FCL) FCL.055, the ICAO requirement for Language Proficiency in aviation has become the law. Proficiency in both, ICAO phraseology and plain language are required for safe radiotelephony communications.

    You have to decide which level you want to achieve beforehand. I am English LPE, capable of testing your English proficiency up to ICAO Level 6.

    Generally the test takes about 1:30h and consist of a CBT (computer based test) and an interview. All your answers are recorded and assessed.
    There are different ICAO Levels of proficiency:
    Level 4 (Operational); valid for 4 years. This is the minimum level required.
    Level 5 (Extended); valid for 6 years.
    Level 6 (Expert); unlimited validity.
